Another cold day. We were going to go to the Kelpies, but our granddaughter, who is staying with us just now, didn't want go out, so we took a first trip to Bantaskine in Falkirk by ourselves instead (leaving #2 son to "babysit").

Much of the area was the site of the "Battle of Falkirk Muir" and there's a monument to that at the edge of the estate, but we headed the other way, down the hill towards the Union Canal before walking along towards the Falkirk Tunnel. I hadn't actually realised it so close to Bantaskine.
